OPEN // COMPETE // YOUTH // 5k // 10k //

GENERAL GUIDELINES //

  • Open Division challengers may take on the 1.8k (1 Lap), 5k (3 Laps), or the 10k (6 Laps).
  • Youth under the age of 14 may accompany a registered adult or participate in the special Youth Heat.
  • Help each other. The challenge is the course, not the other runners. Cheer each other on and help each other with obstacles! Have fun and do your best!
  • Some obstacles may require assistance/teamwork to complete. If you cannot complete an obstacle, you may simply bypass the obstacle (competitors do burpees, for everyone else it's optional).  The challenge is for everyone, so don't let the fear of not being able to do something stop you! 
  • At the end of your final lap, turn off toward the finish line, scale the final obstacle, ring the bell at the top, and, after one final leap of faith, receive your finisher medal!
  • Entry includes finisher medal, swag, and a race buff! T-shirts are available for purchase.

COMPETE DIVISION //

  • The 5k Compete males and females will vie for a Thor's Hammer trophy
  • If it is your intent to compete, we ask that you ensure you clearly understand the rules of competition and honorably adhere to them. 
  • The 5k Compete Heat is at 8:30am.  The Open 10k will also begin at this time.
  • All Compete Division athletes must wear the provided buff and check-in at the water table for your mark at the completion of each lap.
  • If you are in the Compete Division and you fail to successfully complete an obstacle, you must perform 10 burpees before you proceed. For every burpee, your chest must fully touch the ground at the bottom and both feet must leave the ground at the same time at the top. *For Open Divisions, the burpees are optional.

A few examples of a failed obstacle would be: 

  • Not slapping the board at the top of the rope climb
  • Touching the ground on the rope swing, balance beams, or one-rope bridge
  • Using side supports to climb over the top of the walls
  • Accepting help to complete an obstacle
